At Golden Pond Retirement Community here in Golden, November is all about gratitude, community, and caring for one another as we move into the cozy winter season. For more than 20 years, Golden Pond has been a locally owned, resident-focused community where neighbors quickly become family.

Honoring Our Veterans

We’re proud to be home to many veterans and military families, and we’re taking extra time this month to honor their service and sacrifice.

Veterans Day Ceremony

Monday, November 10 at 1:00 PM

Residents, families, and team members are invited to join us as we pause, reflect, and say “thank you” to the veterans who call Golden Pond home.

Outing to Mitchell Elementary School

Tuesday, November 11

We’re heading over to Mitchell Elementary to enjoy a special Veterans Day program prepared by the students. Intergenerational events like these bring smiles to both the young and young-at-heart.

On-Site Health & Wellness Clinics

Staying healthy is easier when services come right to you. This month, residents can take advantage of:

  • Podiatry Clinic – Tuesday, November 4
  • Take care of those hard-working feet—appointments fill quickly, so be sure to schedule early.
  • Lux Eye Clinic – Tuesday, November 11
  • Keep your vision sharp with routine eye checks and updated prescriptions.
  • Blood Pressure Clinic – Thursday, November 18 at 10:00 AM
  • A quick and important check-in to help monitor heart health.
  • Hearing Clinic – Thursday, November 20 at 10:00 AM
  • Make sure you’re hearing every joke, story, and song this season with our monthly hearing checks.

The Heart Behind the Apron – Tie One On Day

Thanksgiving doesn’t happen by magic—it’s powered by the loving hands in the kitchen. The day before Thanksgiving (this year on Wednesday, November 26) is known as Tie One On Day, a time to honor the cooks and caregivers who nourish us.

The tradition encourages people to wrap homemade goodies in an apron and gift them—along with a handwritten note—to someone who could use a little extra kindness. At Golden Pond, we’ll be talking about favorite family recipes, sharing memories of holiday meals, and celebrating the “heart behind the apron” in our own community.

Employee of the Month: Congratulations, Ayleen Lopez!

We’re proud to recognize Ayleen Lopez as our Employee of the Month for November.

Ayleen consistently goes above and beyond for our residents. Her kindness, dedication, and cheerful attitude brighten our community every day. Thank you, Ayleen, for your hard work and your heart for our residents—you’re a big part of what makes Golden Pond feel like home.
