Spring has officially arrived at Golden Pond Retirement Community, and May is bringing fresh energy, meaningful celebrations, and plenty of opportunities for residents to enjoy time together.
As the days grow warmer and flowers begin to bloom across Golden, our community is embracing the season with festive events, scenic outings, entertainment, and heartfelt moments designed to keep residents engaged, connected, and smiling.
This month’s calendar is filled with events that bring neighbors and friends together while celebrating the traditions and experiences that make community life special.
One of the most anticipated events is our Cinco de Mayo celebration on May 5th. Residents will enjoy tacos, music, and festive fun in the dining room and on the back patio, followed by a piñata filled with goodies at 1:00 PM. Events like this create more than entertainment—they create shared memories and opportunities for connection.
We’ll also honor the incredible mothers and mother figures in our community during our Mother’s Day celebration. Residents and families are invited to visit our special Bloom Bar in the lobby from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM to create personalized bouquets together. Whether making flowers for themselves or someone they love, it’s a meaningful way to celebrate family, gratitude, and togetherness.
Later in the month, residents will gather for a Memorial Day BBQ celebration on May 21st on the back patio. Sharing meals, stories, and laughter outdoors is one of the many ways we build community and create joyful experiences throughout the year.
At Golden Pond, staying active and socially connected is an important part of daily life. Our popular Sunday Scenic Drives continue throughout the month, giving residents a relaxing way to enjoy Colorado’s beautiful spring scenery while spending time with friends.
Residents are also looking forward to:
These activities are about more than filling the calendar—they help residents build friendships, stay engaged, and enjoy meaningful experiences every day.
May also includes International Nurses Day on May 12th, giving us an opportunity to celebrate the dedicated caregivers and wellness professionals who support our residents with compassion and kindness each day.
We are especially proud to spotlight Sarah Stevenson, Director of Wellness, whose passion for senior care shines throughout our community. With more than 20 years of nursing experience, Sarah is deeply committed to ensuring residents feel valued, respected, and truly cared for.
At Golden Pond, wellness means supporting the whole person—physically, emotionally, and socially—and our team works hard every day to create a warm, welcoming environment where residents can truly thrive.
As we move toward summer, we’re excited to continue creating opportunities for joy, connection, and engagement. From celebrations and outings to quiet moments shared among friends, life at Golden Pond is centered around community and meaningful living.
We’re grateful for every resident, family member, and team member who helps make Golden Pond such a special place to call home.
