June is bringing sunshine, fresh air, and a full calendar of meaningful moments to Golden Pond Retirement Community. As summer begins, residents can look forward to scenic outings, new wellness opportunities, immersive activities, community celebrations, and plenty of time to connect with friends and family.
This month, Golden Pond is embracing the longer days and beautiful Colorado weather with more ways to get outside, stay active, and enjoy the season. June also marks Great Outdoors Month, Women’s Golf Month, Audiobook Appreciation Month, Men’s Health Week, and Father’s Day — giving us many reasons to celebrate wellness, connection, and community.
We’re excited to introduce our new Walking Club! This is a great opportunity for residents to stay active, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time with friends. Whether you’re looking for light exercise, fresh air, or a new social routine, Walking Club is a wonderful way to move through the summer season together.
Golden Pond is also launching a new immersive activity experience with Virtual Reality through Mynd Immersive.
Residents will be able to explore beautiful destinations, relax on tropical beaches, walk through peaceful forests, visit famous landmarks, enjoy calming scenery, and even try interactive experiences like fishing, butterfly catching, spending time with puppies, or skydiving — all from the comfort and safety of the community.
This program is designed to spark curiosity, encourage conversation, support relaxation, and create meaningful new experiences.
This month’s scenic drives will take residents through some of Colorado’s most beautiful mountain destinations, including Idaho Springs, Nederland, and the Mount Blue Sky area.
These relaxing outings offer a chance to enjoy winding mountain roads, pine forests, fresh air, and panoramic views without having to do any of the driving. Residents are encouraged to sign up and join us for these memorable summer drives.
Summer is the perfect time to enjoy great food and good company. This month’s Monday lunch outings include favorite local restaurants and scenic dining spots such as Genesee Pub & Grill, The Flats Lounge, Black-eyed Pea, and Olive Garden.
Whether residents are coming for the food, the views, or the conversation, these outings are a wonderful way to enjoy the season together.

This month, we are proud to recognize Jocelyn Swan as our Employee of the Month.
Jocelyn is known for her dedication, teamwork, reliability, and compassion. She is always willing to jump in and help wherever she is needed, and her commitment to residents is truly appreciated. Her positive attitude and strong work ethic make her an invaluable part of the Golden Pond team.

Get ready for one of the most entertaining events of the year!
On June 30, Golden Pond will host its first Staff Talent Show. Staff members will take the stage to share hidden talents, including singing, dancing, comedy, magic, and surprise performances.
Residents will serve as judges, cheering on their favorite acts and helping choose the talent show champion. It will be an afternoon full of laughter, friendly competition, and community spirit.
Golden Pond will celebrate Father’s Day with an afternoon of summer fun, backyard games, conversation, and live music from Ellis Marcel.
Residents, families, and friends are invited to enjoy cornhole, lawn games, root beer floats, and time together in the Colorado sunshine. It’s a perfect way to honor the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who mean so much to our community.
